The Rockies followed up last night’s 5-0 shutout with another fantastic 9-3 win over the Pirates. It marks the fourth time that the Rockies have won a series in Pittsburgh since PNC opened in 2001. Every Rockies batter notched at least one hit, including Jon Gray and pinch hitter David Dahl.
Jon Gray was brilliant today. Other than giving up another solo homer in the second inning — which landed on the fly in the Allegheny River — he pitched a gem for seven innings. With Gray’s start, that marked the first time this season that back-to-back starters pitched seven innings.
