In a game that was scoreless through seven and a half innings, it was Ryan McMahon who ended up being the hero. After Jairo Diaz blew the save in the ninth, Nolan Arenado walked to start the Rockies’ half of the ninth. Daniel Murphy struck out swinging, but McMahon was able to square up a fastball and launch it into the right field pavilion. The Rockies were just swept by the St. Louis Cardinals and the Braves have won eight straight, including back-to-back sweeps of the Marlins and Mets, so this was a great win for this team.
