The pandemic-shortened 2020 MLB Draft is in the books! The Rockies made six selections this year. They started with the “sexy pick” of Zac Veen — a high school outfielder out of Spruce Creek High School in Florida — with the ninth overall pick on Wednesday night. Their final pick was Jack Blomgren, a shortstop from the University of Michigan.
The Rockies had six picks in the five round draft, and drafted equal numbers of both position players and pitchers as well as high schoolers and college players. They started the draft with back-to-back high school position players, then nabbed back-to-back college arms in the second and third rounds.
