The Colorado Rockies placed right-handed reliever Justin Lawrence on irrevocable waivers on Saturday afternoon, as first reported by MLB insider Jon Heyman.
Lawrence, 30, was originally drafted by the Rockies out of Florida’s Daytona State College in 2015. A hard-throwing Panamanian righty, Lawrence’s fastball could regularly top 100 MPH, but he often struggled with control.
