There has been an announcement that several rule changes in the MLB will occur in the near future. A couple will be implemented this season. One of these changes will be the hard and fast trade deadline. This deadline will be July 31, which means no trading in August or September. The roster will go from 25 to 26, with the September roster going from 40 to 28. The pitching staff maximum will be 13 and 14, respectively. Other changes include an All-Star Game Election Day and a $1 million prize for the Home Run Derby winner.
