DENVER -- The Padres have now won as many games in the past two days as they had entering their three-game series against the Rockies at Coors Field. Following another impressive outing from rookie left-hander Joey Lucchesi, and a scoreless showing from their bullpen, the Padres won their second straight game, 5-2, to take the series from the Rockies, who have dropped four of five on their opening homestand.
Hunter Renfroe pushed the Padres ahead with a two-out, three-run homer in the seventh for the first runs allowed by prized offseason Rockies acquisition Bryan Shaw.
