Rafael Betancourt activated in time to help beleaguered Rockies pen

SAN FRANCISCO — The Rockies on Friday added a veteran arm back to their beleaguered bullpen by activating Rafael Betancourt from the disabled list before a three-game series against the Giants.

Justin Miller, who made his Rockies debut last week, was sent back to Triple-A Albuquerque to carve an open spot.

Betancourt, who went on the DL June 8 with a sinus infection and vertigo, likely will resume his late-game setup role in front of closer John Axford.

"For two or three weeks, I was feeling just awful," Betancourt said. "I wasn't able to do my job.
