PHILADELPHIA — The Rockies won a series this week for the first time since mid-April. They have won four of their past five games, their best stretch since the opening two weeks of the season. And they have done it with a who's-who list of starting pitchers, as in, "Who are these guys?"
Chad Bettis, Chris Rusin and David Hale, recent call-ups from the minor leagues, propped up the best week-long string of starting pitching the Rockies have seen all season. Saturday to Wednesday, they received winnable starts from, in order, Hale, Bettis, Eddie Butler, Rusin and Kyle Kendrick.
