The early returns are in and it looks as if the Rockies may have acquired some pitching promise for the future in the trade that sent shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to Toronto.
All three of the pitchers received in the trade have worked and, for the most part, received nods of approval. If there was any hesitation, it came on Ron Gideon's appraisal of right-hander Jeff Hoffman, who was assigned to New Britain in the Double-A Eastern League.
Gideon, the development supervisor at New Britain, noted that Hoffman, a No. 1 draft choice by the Blue Jays in 2014, is building arm strength and is not 100 percent recovered from Tommy John surgery in May 2014.
