The Colorado Rockies started a four-game weekend series in Miami against the Marlins, and left the bats at home, dropping game one Thursday.
David Phelps threw eight scoreless innings, and Giancarlo Stanton‘s first inning three-run home run was all the Miami Marlins needed on Thursday night, defeating the Colorado Rockies 6-0 at Marlin Park.
The Marlins got started early with Giancarlo Stanton’s three-run home run off Rockies’ starter Chris Rusin in the bottom of the first inning, a laser beam of a line drive that got out of the park into the Rockies’ left field bullpen in a hurry and immediately put the Rockies down 3-0.
