Nolan Arenado finds joy with Cardinals, admits it’s “weird” playing against the Rockies

“Weird” seemed to be the operative word to describe Nolan Arenado’s first game against his former team.

“Yeah, kind of weird,” St. Louis’ star third baseman said Friday before the Cardinals hosted the Rockies at Busch Stadium. “Different emotions. Anxiousness, a little bit, I guess, in a way.”

Rockies shortstop Trevor Story, who played alongside Arenado for five seasons and considers Arenado a mentor, said: “It’s going to be, obviously, pretty weird. Me and Nolan are pretty good friends and we built a good relationship. I’m looking forward to seeing him on the other side and playing against him, although it will be weird.
