New York Mets 5, Colorado Rockies 3: Rockies come up short in New York

The Colorado Rockies dropped the second game of their series at Citi Field on Saturday, losing to the Mets, 5-3. Jon Gray pitched better than his line, which ended up a pedestrian eight hits and four earned runs allowed in 5 23 innings, with three walks and eight strikeouts. Offensively, the Rockies could not come up with the big hit despite plenty of baserunners in the loss.

Singles only

The Rockies had seven hits against Mets pitching on the night, but all of them were singles. In addition, they also struck out 15 times for the second straight night.
