Myers scratched after taking stray ball to face

DENVER -- Wil Myers, already in the midst of an injury-plagued 2018 campaign, appears to have been handed another bad break -- or, more accurately, a bad hop.

During batting practice on Wednesday afternoon, Myers was hit in the face by a ground ball at third base. He was scratched from the starting lineup. Second baseman Jose Pirela replaced him, with Cory Spangenberg moving to third base.

Myers was struck squarely on the nose, and he remained on the ground for several moments, before walking off the field, bloodied and holding a towel over his face.
