More support for Larry Walker needs to be a Colorado standard

It is time for Major League Baseball’s writers to stop ignoring Larry Walker.

Walker, the man popularly regarded as the second best Rockies player of all time, behind Todd Helton, has been on the Hall of Fame ballot for a few years now and his percentage has hovered between 20-25 percent of the votes.

Walker played a total 17 years in the major leagues, 10 with the Rockies, six with the Expos, and two with the Cardinals. He signed as amateur free agent with the Expos in 1984, as a 17-year-old. After declaring free agency, Walker signed with the Rockies on April 8th, 1995.
