The Rockies’ active roster expanded again on Tuesday ahead of a home showdown against San Francisco, as Colorado recalled infielder Garrett Hampson, left-handed pitcher Sam Howard and outfielder Raimel Tapia from Triple-A Albuquerque in addition to selecting the contract of Isotopes’ closer D.J. Johnson.
In a corresponding move, outfielder Yonathan Daza was recalled from Double-A Hartford and placed on the 60-day disabled list in order to make room for Johnson on the 40-man roster.
Hampson, Howard and Tapia have all seen stints with the Rockies this season, with Hampson making his debut July 21 in Arizona and Howard making his debut on June 10 at Coors Field against the Diamondbacks.
