After a disastrous 2021 campaign that saw the Colorado Rockies’ Double-A affiliate – the Hartford Yard Goats – post a 39-79 record, the club’s fortunes changed in 2022. Ezequiel Tovar (No. 1 PuRP) led the charge in the first-half, posting a 153 wRC+ in the first 66 games of the season.
The team barely missed the first playoff spot with a 43-26 record before the break. They played .500 ball the rest of the season, sitting on the outside of the Eastern League playoff picture despite posting the second-best overall record in the league at 77-60.
