Left-handed reliever Mike Dunn was placed on the 10-day disabled list with back spasms, the Rockies announced Wednesday.
Right-hander Chad Qualls will take Dunn’s place in the Rockies bullpen, as he was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list.
Dunn’s DL stint was back-dated to Sunday, April 23. The 31-year-old has been sparkling in his first 10 appearances in purple pinstripes, posting a 2-0 record, with a 1.17 ERA, 10 strikeouts and two walks over 7 2/3 innings.
Qualls last season went 2-0 with a 5.23 ERA with 22 strikeouts and nine walks in 32 2/3 innings.
