Mark Reynolds’ sweeter, subtler swing has made him Rockies’ best hitter in early going

Mark Reynolds had an inkling he would get off to a good start with the Rockies this season.

His offseason golf scores told him so.

“My golf swing was terrible this offseason, so I sort of knew. I can tell that my baseball swing is coming back strong when my golf swing is (bad),” the veteran first baseman joked Monday before the contest against the Chicago Cubs at Coors Field was rained out, rescheduled for Tuesday at 12:10 p.m. as the first game of a split doubleheader. “My golf swing was never good this offseason, so I guess that meant I would hit OK.
