Mark Reynolds plowed his way through Coors Field with plenty of opportunities to bash home runs, even before he played for the Rockies. He suited up for the Arizona Diamondbacks for four seasons, including 2009 when he belted 44 home runs.
But never had Reynolds hit a ball farther in Denver than Thursday night, when he launched a 484-foot shot to left-center field, the second-longest home run hit this season, according to Statcast, Only the Rangers’ Nomar Mazara (491 feet) has hit a longer one.
“It felt like me in 2009,” Reynolds said afterward.
Reynolds flashed the kind of raw power the Rockies could use right now.
