Before tonight, I had never heard of Matt Beaty. By the end of the night, his two-run home run had sent the Rockies to their ninth straight loss against the Dodgers. Add Beaty’s name to the list of random Dodgers that have beaten the Rockies in recent years. Guys like Andrew Toles and Alex Guerrero that have come from nowhere to steal games from the Rockies.
That isn’t to discredit the performance of Walker Buehler, who was brilliant on the mound for the Dodgers tonight. He pitched all nine innings, allowing two runs on three hits with no walks and 16 strikeouts.
