It was ten years ago today that a 24-year-old Charlie Blackmon made his MLB debut against the San Diego Padres. Blackmon, playing left field and batting seventh, would go 0-for-3 in a 0-2 loss to Bud Black’s Friars. He’d be making up-and-down trips from then Triple-A affiliate Colorado Springs for the next couple seasons but June 7th, 2011 would be the beginning of what has become a long and successful career for the man who’d come to be known as Chuck Nazty.
The four time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger Charlie Blackmon has now played in parts of eleven seasons and is the second-longest tenured Rockies player of all-time next to Todd Helton.
