The Rockies added four players to their 40-man roster before Wednesday night’s deadline to protect players from selection in next month’s Rule 5 draft at the winter meetings.
The four players added to the roster are left-handed pitcher Ben Bowden, right-handers Ashton Goudeau and Antonio Santos, and first baseman Tyler Nevin. The Rockies now have a full 40-man roster.
Nevin, 22, got off to a slow start at Double-A Hartford, but finished with a .251 average, 13 home runs and 26 doubles in 130 games.
Bowden, 25, didn’t pitch in the Arizona Fall League in order to rest after a long season in which he pitched at both Double-A and at Triple-A Albuquerque.
