New season, new delivery and renewed confidence, but he’s the same-old, bring-it-on, in-your-face competitor.
That, in a snapshot, is the 2020 version of Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland, who’s slated to make his first start of the season Sunday afternoon against Texas at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Freeland’s ability to rebound from a bad 2019 season is unquestionably one of the biggest keys for Colorado’s chances for success in this 60-game season. He knows it and says he welcomes it.
“I’m accepting the pressure of the things that I need to do,” Freeland said. “This past offseason, and during this (coronavirus pandemic) hiatus, I’ve been able to make the proper adjustments that I needed to.
