As Kyle Freeland watched his second pitch of the day get tattooed over the left field wall for a 391-foot homer, Colorado Rockies fans wondered if it was going to be another cloudy day for their struggling left-hander.
Instead, Freeland settled down and — for one afternoon at least — basked in the sunshine.
The Denver native scattered five hits over five innings and fanned five to earn his first victory in a Colorado uniform in nearly four months as the Rockies held on for a 6-2 win over the San Francisco Giants Sunday at Coors Field.
