For the second time in as many days, a centerpiece of what was supposed to be one of the best rotations in Rockies’ history is headed to the injured list.
Colorado sent southpaw Kyle Freeland to the 10-day injured list on Thursday due to a left groin strain he suffered during his outing on Tuesday in Arizona. The move, retroactive to Aug. 21, comes a day after Jon Gray was placed on the 60-day injured list with a season-ending left foot fracture.
Freeland, who underwent a midseason demotion to Triple-A Albuquerque after a horrendous start, is 3-11 with a 6.
