PHOENIX — Rockies general manager Jeff Bridich, who has meticulously assembled a roster to compete for a championship, did a double-take in disbelief at Gerardo’s Parra freshly dyed hair, which looked as if a chemical spill had happened on the outfielder’s head.
“What color,” Bridich asked, “is that supposed to be?”
“Light purple,” declared Parra, ignoring the fact his hair was a mishmash of colors stranger than the palette of Salvador Dali.
“It’s lavender,” said Vinny Castilla, trying not to bust a gut while busting on Parra.
So 2018 is the year we’re supposed to take Rockies baseball seriously, and Parra shows up for the season-opener with lavender hair?
