ST. LOUIS -- Rockies right-hander Kyle Kendrick left Friday night's game with the Cardinals after one inning with right shoulder inflammation, and is listed as day to day.
Kendrick yielded a leadoff homer to Matt Carpenter, which was the 26th homer off Kendrick this season and the third by Carpenter just two games into a four-game series. Kendrick gave up four hits and two runs in the inning.
The problem is not a new one. From July 3 to July 21, Kendrick threw just one inning, when he didn't return after a lengthy rain delay.
