Before you boo, Kaleena Patrick has a Nolan Arenado tale to share. About the time a third baseman with a Gold Glove touched a little boy with a big heart.
It was July 9, 2018. Kaleena’s son, Taurean Taylor, had just started his second week of treatment at Children’s Hospital in Aurora for leukemia. The diagnosis landed like a lead balloon on June 20, 12 days before his 11th birthday.
This was a Rockies off day, a Monday. The best Monday. Hospital staff told Taurean and his family that Arenado would be stopping by to say hello, sign autographs and pose for pictures.
