Jordan Lyles will miss next Rockies start with injured toe, DL possible

PHILADELPHIA — Jordan Lyles walked off the mound in the second inning Sunday at Citizens Bank Park. It was a good sign that he walked. But that was about the only good sign.

Lyles left a game early because of injury for the third time in his last four starts. And the Rockies right-hander will miss his next start, he said, after re-injuring his left big toe.

"It's not very good," manager Walt Weiss said.

Lyles now is likely headed to the disabled list, although the Rockies wouldn't confirm their next step for the pitcher.

"I'd already torn and broke everything in my last start," Lyles said.
