Jon Gray, Colorado’s most consistent starter in 2019, is done for the season.
The Rockies announced Wednesday that Gray is headed to the 60-day injured list with a left foot fracture. In his place, Colorado selected the contract of Tim Melville from Triple-A Albuquerque, and the right-hander will start Wednesday’s series finale at Arizona in Gray’s place.
Gray was 11-8 with a 3.84 ERA this year while bouncing back from a disappointing 2018 season. The right-hander helped prop up the top end of the Colorado rotation, especially in the wake of opening day starter Kyle Freeland being demoted to Triple-A.
