SCOTTSDALE — The moment he steps into the locker room, you notice him. It isn’t because of his tall stature, or his facial features, or his build. It’s his hair.
“I love it. It’s a good flow. He’s got power hair,” fellow Rockies starting pitcher Tyler Anderson said.
The “power hair” in question belongs to one Jon Gray, a fan and clubhouse favorite for the Colorado Rockies.
Gray has grown out his hair for as long as he can remember. Once he got to high school he had to cut it because of the “clean rule,” a rule implemented by various programs around the country that states a player can’t have ungroomed facial hair or hair that reaches past his collar.
