SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Jackson Williams has had a cup of coffee with two major league teams — the Rockies and the Giants.
The 29-year-old catcher, a non-roster invitee, is a long shot to break camp with the Rockies this spring. Nick Hundley is the incumbent starter, and Tom Murphy and Dustin Garneau are battling for the backup job.
"I'm definitely working at what I need to get better at today," Williams said. "What I need to do to get back to the major leagues and stay there."
Williams made seven major league appearances with the Rockies in 2014, and also got into seven games with the Giants a season ago.
