Injuries to DJ LeMahieu, Trevor Story dampen Rockies’ walk-off win

The Rockies’ jubilation over their 9-7 walk-off win over Arizona on Sunday was tainted by worry. Their dynamic middle infielders, second baseman DJ LeMahieu and shortstop Trevor Story, both were injured.

The Rockies are hopeful that neither player’s injury is serious enough to land him on the disabled list, but it’s likely both will miss some playing time.

LeMahieu, who’s having an all-star-worthy season with a .327 average and five homers, left the diamond in the top of the sixth inning with a bruised left knee. Story, the rookie who belted his 19th homer Sunday, suffered a bruised right middle finger after being hit by pitch in the ninth.
