The great Brooks Robinson reads the newspaper too, and I envision him gracefully scooping up The Baltimore Sun or perhaps his paperboy challenging the golden-aged golden glover, whisking the paper to Robinson's right, just to see if ol' Brooksie's still got it.
"I pick up the paper every morning, and there are three guys I follow," the 78-year-old Robinson, a Hall of Fame third baseman, said by phone. "Nolan. (Manny) Machado here. And then the third baseman for the Tampa Rays, (Evan) Lon- goria."
Nolan, of course, is our guy Arenado, and maybe there's no better compliment to the Rockies third baseman than the fact that Brooks Robinson follows his every game.
