Coors Field was rockin’ and rolling in the ninth inning Sunday afternoon. A sweet sweep was close.
Rockies shortstop Trevor Story had just thrown out Odubel Herrera at the plate and it looked like the Rockies might escape with a nail-biting 2-1 win over the Phillies. Surely all-star closer Greg Holland would finish it off.
Except that he didn’t.
Cameron Rupp ripped a two-run double to left center, lifting the Phillies to a 3-2 victory and preventing a Colorado sweep. It was just the second blown save of the season for Holland, who had nailed down 34 victories coming in.
