SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Rockies right-hander Jon Gray, expected to be the team's fifth starter, came out of Tuesday's start against the Brewers with one out in the first inning after hurting himself on a throw to second base.
The nature of the injury was not initially known.
With nobody out and runners on first and second, Jonathan Lucroy hit a comebacker that Gray fielded, spun and threw high and wide torward second base.
Before throwing another pitch, Gray was removed from the game in favor of Christian Bergman.
