Going to the Rockies’ home opener Friday? Bring your winter gloves and your baseball gloves.

Rockies’ fans, make sure to grab your winter gloves along with your baseball gloves when heading to Coors Field on Friday because the home opener is going to be a cold one.

Despite a cruel tease of warmer days Wednesday and Thursday, with highs hovering in the mid-60s, a cold front is expected to blast through Denver Thursday night into Friday. The incoming storm is bringing with it high temperatures in the mid- to upper-30s on Friday, freezing rain and maybe even snow.

“It may be that annoying rain mixed with snow we get this time of year,” said Kyle Fredin, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Boulder.
