The madness just kept coming Tuesday night at Coors Field, where the Rockies socked it to the faltering Padres again with a 7-3 win.
Rockies starter German Marquez took a one-hitter into the seventh inning before giving up three home runs in four at-bats. One of the homers was an inside-the-park job by Jake Cronenthworth.
After the game, manager Bud Black said that Marquez was not feeling well and was “in a bad spot.” But Marquez toughed it out.
“He showed his grit,” Black said.
In the bottom of the seventh, Colorado rebounded with back-to-back homers — a two-run, 444-foot blast to center by Charlie Blackmon and a solo shot to left by C.
