The right-hander was excellent Sunday, pitching six outstanding innings Sunday afternoon in the Rockies’ 3-1 victory over Oakland at Coors Field. The win halted the Athletics’ bid for a three-game sweep.
Colorado closer Daniel Bard, who like Marquez has rediscovered his mojo, blanked the A’s in the eighth and ninth for his second two-inning save and his seventh save overall.
Marquez (4-5, 3.91 ERA) allowed one run on four hits, struck out six and walked one.
