NEW YORK — During spring training, German Marquez said his ultimate goal was to win a Cy Young Award. Perhaps the talented right-hander will get there some day.
Right now, however, what the Rockies need from their best starting pitcher is a rebound performance when he faces the Cubs on Monday night at Coors Field. Marquez is coming off a bad start in Chicago in which he gave up a career high-tying eight runs on seven hits in a 9-8 loss to the Cubs on Wednesday.
Rockies manager Bud Black said there are a couple of things he wants to see from Marquez going forward.
