PHILADELPHIA — When the Rockies commit four sloppy errors — two of them by Nolan Arenado — and starter Tyler Chatwood gets rocked on the road, chances are it’s a bad day.
And Sunday was a very bad day for Colorado, a team that’s clearly running on empty right now.
Despite two more home runs from scorching-hot center fielder Charlie Blackmon, the Phillies beat the Rockies 7-6 at Citizens Bank Park to complete a three-game sweep. The Rockies have lost ninth of their last 11 games, their wild-card dreams curdling in the August heat.
