Former Rockies prospect Jeff Hoffman pitches strong, but is undone by one bad inning

Jeff Hoffman pitched five strong innings for the Isotopes last night in his quest to return the Rockies starting rotation, but the wheels started to fall off in the sixth inning when he gave up a walk and three hits that resulted in three runs. Prior to that inning, Jeff had only given up one hit and struck out four, but, unfortunately, the ‘Topes offense didn’t show up and he was stuck with a loss in an otherwise decent outing.

Grant Lavigne continued the hot start to his professional career by collecting two extra-base hits—a double and a triple—for Grand Junction last night, and Wes Rogers hit a two-run bomb for Lancaster, and Brendan Rodgers went 2-for-4 in a shutout loss for Hartford.
