You’ve probably heard this one before.
A player for the Colorado Rockies—one who is being paid a very large sum of money by said team—is more injured than expected and has no timetable for return.
This is a situation fans of the team are all too familiar with since the Rockies signed Kris Bryant to a seven-year, $182 million contract prior to the 2022 MLB season.
Bryant was given superstar money by the Rockies in exchange for what they hoped would be the end of a superstar career. Instead, the Rockies are paying Bryant superstar money in exchange for him essentially not playing at all.
