The Colorado Rockies are—as usual—completely log-jammed when it comes to their outfield.
Last week I discussed the core of the problem: veterans like Jake Cave are getting a large amount of playing time over younger outfielders, and the team is putting off making decisions that will need to be made at some point when it comes to the future.
There are simply too few spots to go around in an organization with a glut of outfielders.
However, I only briefly touched upon just how deep the log-jam goes within the organization. Guys like Cave and even Charlie Blackmon won’t be around forever, and the Rockies need to start thinking about who will be patrolling the outfield in 2025 and beyond.
