After a stint in Triple-A, Eddie Butler returns to the big leagues to face Andrew Cashner and the Padres.
Post-prospect Eddie Butler makes his return to the big leagues today. Butler started the year with the Rockies and had a rough time of it. In 11 starts he put up a 4.80 ERA. Measured by Deserved Run Average (DRA), Baseball Prospectus's new pitching metric, Butler's 6.58 mark indicates that he was the second worst pitcher in all of baseball among those with at least 50 innings pitched, besting only Bud Norris.
Most worryingly, I previously noted, was that Butler was walking a bunch of batter without striking out many.
