Three of the four Colorado Rockies' full season minor league affiliates were in action on Thursday, with only the Double-A Hartford Yard Goats coming out on top. The least competitive game of the day was the High-A Modesto Nuts' 7-1 loss at the hands of the High Desert Mavericks, but in the minor leagues individual performances are often more important than overall team results.
That was the case in this one as well, as catcher Dom Nunez (No. 13 PuRP) went 2-for-4 with a double on the day. Nunez has now reached base in all 22 games he's played in this season and has reached in 32 straight going back to last season.
