DJ LeMahieu came through with one of the biggest hits of his Rockies career Wednesday night.
The second baseman hit the first walk-off home run of his career with a two-run shot off Yoshihisa Hirano to lift the Rockies to a critical 5-4 win over Arizona at Coors Field. After his line shot to right field, the crowd shouted “DJ! DJ!”
Pinch-hitter Gerardo Parra started the rally with a hard shot off the glove of first baseman Paul Goldschmidt. It was ruled a hit. Charlie Blackmon’s sacrifice bunt advanced Parra to second.
The Rockies outhit the Diamondbacks 13-4, but they were 3-for-11 with runners in scoring position until LeMahieu came up in the ninth.
