SAN DIEGO -- Ian Desmond still loves hitting at Petco Park. Charlie Blackmon still loves hitting just about anywhere.
Desmond launched a two-run fifth-inning homer on Monday night, propelling Colorado to a 7-4 victory over the Padres. It was his fifth homer in 11 games in San Diego since joining the Rockies before last season, and he also added an RBI double in the third inning. Blackmon hit a solo shot of his own in the ninth, his fourth in four games this season, after he had doubled twice earlier in the game.
DJ LeMahieu also went deep in the ninth for the Rockies, and Carlos Gonzalez had two hits, including an RBI double, as right-hander Chad Bettis worked around some early control issues en route to five innings of two-run ball.
