Walt Weiss is at peace with his decision to cut ties with the Rockies, an organization he first joined as a shortstop in 1994.
“I’m in a good place,” he said Monday morning after the Rockies officially announced that Weiss had decided to “step down” as manager. “This is a decision I have been considering for a while. I just don’t think we were going in the same direction.”
His three-year contract ended Sunday after the Rockies’ 6-4 loss to Milwaukee.
Despite his frosty relationship with manager Jeff Bridich, Weiss said he doesn’t hold any hard feelings toward the Rockies.
