How do we best describe the Colorado Rockies this season other than “not great?” Any adjective we want to throw their way through a 5-7 start will ultimately circle back to that same descriptor.
Have they been good? Occasional flashes, but overall, no. Yet they’ve also remained an arm’s length from bad at all times, which leads us back to the less-than-elegant “not great” for a less-than-elegant club that had a team batting average of .232 (22nd in MLB), an on-base percentage of .309 (19th), ERA of 4.82 (25th) and a fielding percentage of .993 (26th) entering Tuesday night.
